I looked at both dolls, older and newer, and I think the newer ones are cuter. The smell wasn't as strong as the older dolls, but the clothes and looks definitly make up for the loss of scent. I think it is nice for people to be able to collect these new dolls- besides, the price to collect the original Strawberry Shortcake collection is completely ridiculous.
